Aboriginal toy-making workshop

Toy-making workshop (photograph by Ronnie Jordan)

During the April school holidays, why not visit the Australian Museum and take part in an Aboriginal toy-making workshop. Join Central Queensland Kalkadoon woman Ronnie Jordan to create your own Kalkadoon-inspired animal or doll.

Immerse yourself in Aboriginal culture and knowledge while learning wrapping skills (a traditional form of Aboriginal weaving) using traditional and modern materials. This is a fun and educational activity that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. Material will be provided to take home if you do not finish your toy during the workshop. All kids welcome!

When: Monday 11 April and Tuesday 12 April 2016, 11am – 12:30pm & 1.30pm – 3pm
Where: Culture Space, Level 2, Australian Museum, College Street, Sydney
Cost: $35 Child and participating Adult. Free for supervising adults after General Admission
