Metro Screen has a wide variety of short courses for everyone from beginners to working professionals. In order to provide access to the tools for contemporary storytelling, and to empower visual storytellers from Indigenous backgrounds, Metro Screen offers Indigenous people based in NSW the opportunity to apply for a free place at one of our short courses throughout the year. There are many different subject areas to choose from including camera, sound, production, directing and digital media. This program is funded by Screen NSW.

How to apply:

Decide which course you wish to participate in. Metro Screen has a wide variety of short courses for everyone from beginners to working professionals. If you would like advice on which course is best for you, please contact Metro Screen (detals below).

  • Write a cover letter stating the course title and start date and explaining why you want to do the course while addressing the selection and eligibility criteria (available on the Metro Screen website, click here)
  • Send us a copy of your CV including full name and contact details and any paid or volunteer work you have done

Places are limited to one place per course. Applications must be received at least two weeks prior to the course start date. At this stage applications will be assessed and all applicants contacted regarding whether or not they have been successful.
