The First Nations Community Access to Archives (FNCAA) initiative, based at the Museum of History NSW (MHNSW) and delivered in close partnership with the Aboriginal Languages Trust, has commenced an important project to search the NSW State Archives for Aboriginal language and cultural materials.
The project’s primary focus is to identify records of significance and return the knowledge they contain to their Traditional Owners/ Communities of Origin. To date, the FNCAA team has identified more than 186 cultural items and successfully re- connected them with their Traditional Owners and communities.
The FNCAA team is committed to raising awareness of the project and welcomes questions and enquiries. If you would like to learn more or have a question about the initiative, please contact the FNCAA team at firstnationsaccess@mhnsw.au.
