A new art and cultural centre established by Aboriginal Housing Company (AHC) called Mungejup has opened in Redfern, and features a new exhibition about the history of the AHC and organisations in Redfern’s The Block. Then centre forms part of the broader Pemulwuy Project, which was completed in 2023.
This exhibition was created by Kyra Kum-sing from Boomalli Aboriginal Art Gallery and Jess Cook from 107 Projects Inc. Everyone is welcome to visit and enjoy the exhibition on display, which was created in consultation with the community, who wanted the area to celebrate its Aboriginal culture and history.
When: showing until 31 December 2026
Where: Mungejup, Caroline Street, Redfern NSW 2016
Note: The exhibition contains cultural and historic information, including the names and depictions of First Nations people who have passed.
