Black Rainbow at Boomalli

Boomalli flies the rainbow flag yet again for the 2014 Mardi Gras.

With open arms Boomalli Aboriginal Artist’s Co-operative would like to invite you into our world. A world of passion and colour that is given a voice to celebrate and embrace who we are and how we see the world.

Artists on show include: Jeffery Samuels, Arone Raymond Meeks, Karla Dickens, Adrian Wills, Elaine Syron, William Yang, Jenny Fraser, Sione Falemaka, Jessica Johnson, Jasmine Sarin, Ella Bancroft, Netani Rairaiwale Cavukiliu Ralulu, Darrell Sibosado.

Exhibition opening: 6:30pm for 7:00pm start, Wednesday 26 February 2014, with a special performance by Bundjalung diva ‘Destiny Haz Arrived’.

The Pride 2014 exhibition runs from Wednesday 26 February through to 28 March 2014.

Jasmine Sarin artist statement: I am a proud Aboriginal woman and acknowledge my family and mob from Kamilaroi country and Jeringa country both located in NSW. I have been raised mainly on the South Coast in Nowra and Wollongong but have country influences from Coonabarabran in Central West NSW. My artwork reflects my experiences of being Aboriginal in an urban environment.
