Black Family – Aboriginal Love at Boomalli

Boomalli would like to welcome you to their 2025 Madi Gras exhibition Black Family – Aboriginal Love. Curated by Dunghutti/Gomeroi woman, Nioka Lowe-Brennan, this exhibition not only celebrates the Queer Aboriginal community but emphasises on how to create bonds, how support each other and how to love. Black Family – Aboriginal Love is a reflection of connection, resilience, survival and love.

Artists on show include: Chenaya Bancroft-Davis, Jasmin Sarin, Nola Taylor, Kirilly Dawn, Graeme Walker, Rubyrose Bancroft, Peter Waples-Crowe, Luke Close, Jai Walker, Krya Kum-Sing, Ella Noah Bancroft, Dennis Golding, Peta-Joy Williams, Jessica Johnson, Nebbi Boii, Hayley Pigram, Annie Monks, Jay Kaulbardi, Arone Meeks (dec), Jeffrey Samuels and Shaun Wildbarra.

Exhibition opening: 6pm to 8pm, Friday 21 February 2025, with a special performance from Nana Miss Koori and DJ Naian.

When: Black Family – Aboriginal Love runs from Friday 21 February to 12 April 2025.

Where: Boomalli Aboriginal Artist’s Co-operative is located at 55-59 Flood Street, Leichhardt.
