Bangarra Dance Theatre returns to the stage with Sheltering, a compelling triple bill that brings together three powerful works: Keeping Grounded, Brown Boys, and Sheoak. Blending storytelling, contemporary dance and cultural knowledge the production explores themes of resilience, identity and enduring connection to Country.
Each work offers a distinct perspective on social and cultural experiences reflecting the strength and continuity of First Nations communities. Sheltering continues Bangarra Dance Theatre’s tradition of creating deeply evocative performances that honour Country while engaging with contemporary issues.
With a total running time of 1 hour and 20 minutes, Sheltering will tour nationally from May through July. On Gadigal Country, performances will take place at the Sydney Opera House from the 3rd to the 13th of June.
