In a career spanning 40 years, leading Aboriginal painter Ronnie Tjampitjinpa was one of the youngest of the group of men who began painting at Papunya in 1971, which led to the emergence of the Western Desert art movement. On 4 April the Art Gallery of NSW will be opening an exhibition to celebrate Tjampitjinpa’s prolific career.
