Yabun Festival 2015

Sponsored by the City of Sydney, Yabun Festival is an annual celebration that takes place on the 26 of January (10am-7pm). It is the nation’s largest one day showcase of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural arts.

The event will be returning to Victoria Park, Camperdown (corner City and Parramatta Roads) in 2015 for its 13th year.

At Yabun Festival 2015, performers from across many genres including blues, country, folk, hip hop, pop and spoken word poetry will take the stage. Headliners include Stephen Pigram (Yawuru/Jabirr-Jabirr), Jimblah (Larrakia), Benny Walker (Yorta Yorta) and Troy, Trevelyn and Dean Brady (Qawanji). Along with the music program, Yabun 2015 will incorporate an extended dance program including smoking ceremonies, SpeakOut tent, arts and craft stalls and kids activities.

Yabun is organised by the Gadigal Information Service Aboriginal Corporation and will be broadcast live in Sydney on Koori Radio (93.7FM), and nationally via the National Indigenous Radio Service (NIRS).
