Indigenous Science Experience @ Redfern

The Indigenous Science Experience @ Redfern is a celebration of Indigenous and Western science and Indigenous youth and Elder achievements.It will demonstrate the value of traditional and contemporary (customary) Indigenous knowledge in science and technology and the relevance of science to our everyday lives. It will be held over three days at the Redfern Community Centre.

From 17 to 19 August 2016 local school students will participate in a range of hands-on science activities demonstrated by Indigenous secondary students and an Indigenous science Expo led by Indigenous representatives and science outreach providers. The activities include household- and environment-themed examples, making the learning relevant to everyday life. This event is hosted by the National Indigenous Science Education Program, Macquarie University, Inspiring Australia, Redfern Community Centre and the City of Sydney.
