Lore: dance stories of land and sea

Showing at the Sydney Opera House, Bangarra Dance Theatre‘s latest dance work for 2015 ‘takes a fresh look on Indigenous stories tracing the silhouette of history and drawing on a sustainable future for its people.’

Curated by Artistic Director Stephen Page and choreographed by Frances Rings, Lore unfolds the stories of She Oak – the Grandmother Tree. Bangarra artists Deborah Brown and Waangenga Blanco join forces, inviting you to their homeland in the Torres Strait. As the tide comes in and out like years go by, modern day hunters, bright and infectious characters, transform domestic life from the salt water to the frozen section of the local IBIS supermarket stores.

When: 12 – 27 June 2015
Where: Sydney Opera House
