Aboriginal History Prize 2016

The inaugural History Council of NSW’s Aboriginal History Prize will be awarded in 2016. Its purpose is the encourage students and other beginning historians (up to post-doctoral career) in the writing of Australian Aboriginal history from original sources. Indigenous Australians are strongly encouraged to submit entries. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize and mentoring assistance from an appropriate History Council member to assist with possible publication of her/his entry.

The winning entry will demonstrate excellence in addressing its subject, proficiency in the use of original materials and clarity of exposition. The nomination form can be downloaded from the History Council of NSW’s website.

Nominations for work undertaken in 2015 for the 2016 Award will close on 31 March 2016.
